ICL Africa was set up in May 2007 to create and develop a forest to provide for GWS’s projected future needs. Eucalyptus is the tree with the highest kilocalorie rate, it was therefore chosen for the project. ICL Africa employs local workforce and is investing in the required infrastructure to develop its activities in a fair and sustainable way.

Location: in the desert near Gabes port, Tunisia with acces to port facilities
Mission : to create an eucalyptus forest in the desert in order to produce high quality wood chips
Principal customer: GWS + a 350 MW Power plant of the Tunisian government (2014)
